Sabarigiri Hydroelectric Project: The Sabarigiri project, which is the second-largest hydroelectric project in Kerala, operates within this panchayat. Dams such as Kakki, Anathode, and Moozhiyar fall under its jurisdiction.
Rivers: The major catchment areas of the Pamba River are located in this panchayat. Both the Pamba and Kakkad rivers are closely associated with this region.
Agriculture & Livelihood: The major agricultural crops cultivated here include rubber, black pepper, cardamom, coffee, cambodge (Kudampuli), and tapioca. Additionally, there are indigenous tribal communities in the area whose livelihood depends on collecting non-timber forest produce.
